After seven years of domestic violence, financial hardship, and constant instability, Mariam’s family has worked tirelessly to rebuild their lives and create the safe, stable home they deserve. Just as they were beginning to find their footing, another devastating challenge arrived.
Mariam, 18, was recently diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma—an aggressive form of blood cancer. She has been transferred to a cancer center in Kendall, Florida, far from where her family currently lives.
After everything this family has already endured, they are now facing not only the fear and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis but also housing insecurity.
